Crossed roller bearings
![]() Brief introductionCrossed roller bearing comprise outer rings, rolling elements and spacers. The outer ring is split and held together by three retaining rings.Due to the order of the rolling elements, crossed roller bearings can support axial load from both directions as well as radial load, tilting moment load and any combined loads.They are very rigid, precise and are supplied with mormal clearance. The bearings' outer rings can be easily located in the adjcent construction by virtue of clamping rings. The retainer of spacer fitting among cross-arrayed rollers prevents rollers from skewing and the rotation torque from increasing due to friction between rollers. Unlike conventional types using steel retainers, the Cross-Roller Ring does not cause displacement or locking of rollers and provides a stable rotation torque. Since the inner and outer rings are designed to be separable, the bearing clearance can be adjusted. In addition, highly accurate rotary motion is ensured through adjusting the bearing clearance to provide a preload.
